Administrative and Communications Coordinator - Full time
Position Title: Administrative and Communications Coordinator
Reports To: SVHC Assistant Director
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $19.50 - $21 per hour
Benefits: Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO), health and dental insurance
Location: on-site in Cortland office Mon-Thurs, Fridays remote.

Position Overview
Seven Valleys Health Coalition (SVHC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative and Communications Coordinator to join our team. This full-time position plays a key role in supporting day-to-day operations and enhancing the organization’s visibility through strategic communications and marketing.
We are looking for a creative, organized, and tech-savvy individual with experience in marketing and communications who is also comfortable managing administrative functions in a nonprofit environment. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with various software and social media platforms, and a passion for promoting community health initiatives.
This role is divided between administrative (60%) and communications (30%) responsibilities, with an additional 10% focused on general organizational support.
Primary Responsibilities
Administrative Support (60%)
Answer phone calls, greet visitors, record and relay messages, and respond to general emails and inquiries
Manage incoming and outgoing mail
Coordinate and maintain office schedules
Organize and manage electronic and paper filing systems to ensure efficient document retrieval
Record incoming funds, process accounts payable/receivable, and prepare check requisitions in line with the approved annual budget
Maintain daily cash logs and records of all credit card transactions.
Maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory
Provide support for the SVHC Board of Directors, taking meeting minutes and distributing board materials
Provide administrative and organizational support for the annual Cortland Counts Community Forum
Communications and Outreach (30%)
Manage SVHC’s media platforms including the website, Facebook and Instagram pages, developing engaging content to expand reach and visibility
Create and distribute a monthly electronic newsletter featuring program highlights and community updates
Maintain and regularly update SVHC’s digital platforms for the 211 referral service: 211 resource database, Cortland 211 website, and the email listserv
Collaborate with staff to create marketing and media materials that promote SVHC’s mission and programs
Design and produce promotional and public relations materials highlighting SVHC’s initiatives
Coordinate outreach for awareness events such as 211 Day, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, National Rural Health Day, and other health-focused campaigns
Compile and maintain an archive of organizational photos and graphics
Design SVHC’s annual report and work with staff to showcase the impact and achievements of the organization
General Duties (10%)
Attend regular staff meetings and one-on-one check-ins
Participate in outreach and networking events as directed
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or Executive Director
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent organizational and clerical experience
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Customer service experience with a focus on phone etiquette
Familiarity with social media management and marketing strategies
Experience with data entry, filing, and calendar management
Knowledge of financial and office management practices is a plus
