#farmerfridays: Maple Weekend is Here!

March 22, 2019

Looking for something sweet to do this weekend?

Maple farms across New York State will be open this weekend and next, inviting visitors to their “sugar houses” to see how maple syrup is made and enjoy some maple-y treats.

Cortland County's very own Cooper Hill Maple and Pied Piper Maple will have the sap boiling and their doors open. Don't miss out on the opportunity to tap into fun this weekend---there's even a chance to meet Kaitlyn Boice, the Maple Queen!

Cooper Hill Maple

Open from 10-4 on March 23, 24 & 30, 31. Come by for a family-friendly visit and experience the sweet taste of all things maple. We will have sweet maple treats to taste, stories to tell, a sledding hill for kids of all ages (if weather permits), tours of the sugarhouse, demonstrations, a selection of our maple products for sale, and a pancake breakfast on Saturdays only.

Pancake Breakfast Details:

Come have breakfast with the 2019 NYS Maple Queen! 10:00-1:00 Saturdays only, March 23 & March 30. The menu includes all you can eat pancakes or waffles served with a sausage patty, scrambled eggs, milk, orange juice, or coffee, and of course our pure maple syrup. Price is $7 Adults and Children over 10 years of age, $3 for children 3-9 years of age.

Cooper Hill Maple is also pleased to announce that their daughter, Kaitlyn Boice was recently crowned the 2019 NYS Maple Queen and she will be hosting a meet and greet with a maple tasting in the Hope Lake Lodge lobby on Fridays, March 22 & March 29 from 6-8 PM. Stop by and meet the Queen!

Pied Piper Maple:

Pied Piper Maple, located as Barbara Hamlin puts it, on "the beautiful southwest side of Otisco Lake" will also have their doors open and "hopes to see lots of friends and families!".
