This Two-Minute Video Will Change the Way You Bathe

Billions of micro-beads are floating from our sinks to the water supply and back onto our dinner plates. The Story of Stuff Project explains how companies are inserting plastic beads into personal care items from toothpaste to facewash to soaps that are damaging our water supply. The beads are so tiny (smaller than a grain of sand) that they can't be caught in water filtration systems. These non-biodegradable plastic beads cruise right down the drain, into the waterways, and into wildlife - which we eat! Yuk!

The good news is work is being done in Congress to ban microbeads in cosmetic products. In May the Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015 bill was introduced to Congress.
