Responding to the Ebola outbreak

March 24, 2015

StoryCorps is an incredible tool for harnessing the power of the human story. Now available as an app, StoryCorps allows you to interview people with stories to tell - strangers, loved ones, heroes. And all stories will be archived in the Library of Congress.

This story is a brief window into two epidemiologists responding to the Ebola outbreak. Anne Purfield (left) and Michelle Dynes (right) are epidemiologists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

They both volunteered to spend several weeks in Sierra Leone, responding to the Ebola outbreak there.

When they returned to the U.S., they came to StoryCorps to talk about what they saw.
