A SUNY Cortland Community Health ambassador volunteered to represent SVHC at this past weekend's trail work day at Lime Hollow! Here's his reflection:
I joined many individuals of the Cortland community and represented SVHC in helping to keep the beautiful trails of Lime Hollow safe. This activity involved children and adults of all ages, and had everyone taking part in voluntary work. This day only occurs 4 times a year, and brings together the Cortland community to help maintain the cleanliness of Lime Hollow Nature Center. We raked mulch and helped to spread out the clumps that will now allow for better rooting and planting in the spring. We also searched the premises for honeysuckle, which is a invasive species that is spreading rapidly throughout the trails, and removed it any site we saw it. The group came together to help keep Lime Hollow clean and safe. Pizza and refreshments were provided at the end of the work day, as everyone sat together proud of their hard volunteer work that helped maintain the beautiful trails of Lime Hollow Nature Center.
Keep a lookout for future Lime Hollow Trail Work Days!
