Know a resilient, involved youth?

September 10, 2014

SVHC is a proud partner of Cortland Area Communities that Care, and we are excited about this year's Youth of the Year Awards!

Cortland Area Communities that Care is seeking exemplary and noteworthy students for the 2014 Cortland County Youth of the Year Award.  Our goal is to identify and recognize youth who excel, but traditionally “fly under the radar.”

To be considered for this award, nominees must reside in Cortland County and should be no older than 21. Nominees should exhibit leadership, service, resilience and significant contributions in community involvement, school involvement, character and personal accomplishments.

Nominations can be submitted by anyone, including: teachers, staff, service providers, community leaders, friends, family and students. All nominees will be honored during the Youth of the Year Ceremony. The winner of the 2014 Cortland County Youth of the Year Award will win an iPad Mini. The deadline to submit a nomination is October 31, 2014. Nomination forms are available online at and can be submitted through our website or mailed to Cortland Area Communities that Care, 33-35 Central Avenue, Cortland, NY 13045.

This year, the ceremony will take place at the CNY Living History Museum in Homer, NY on November 18, 2014.
