Are you an adult with an ongoing health condition or a caregiver for someone with an ongoing health condition? If you have arthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic pain, depression, or other conditions, Living Healthy Workshops can help you take charge of your life.
Living Healthy uses a peer-based system that helps you:
Get the support you need
Discover better nutrition and exercise choices
Find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue
Learn how to talk with your doctor and family about your health
Set your own goals and make a step-by-step plan to improve your health - and your life!
Workshops are open to anyone 18 or over, and spouses and caregivers are also welcome to attend. Pre-registration is required by calling 756-4198. Registration includes the Living a Healthy Life book, a relaxation CD, and healthy snacks each week.
A workshop called Living Healthy ~ Diabetes is also available. People with diabetes and their caregivers/ loved ones are encouraged to attend.
Living Healthy Workshops were developed at Stanford University. Trained leaders have chronic health conditions themselves, or help care for a loved one with health concerns.
