Description of Services:
Tobacco Free Cortland (TFC) is a partnership of community organizations and individuals dedicated to reducing the health, social and economic burden of tobacco use in Cortland County by fostering the shift toward a tobacco-free community norm.
Key strategies for environmental change include:
- Reducing or removing point-of-sale advertising for tobacco products at retail stores,
- Promoting and increasing the prevalence of smoke-free outdoor areas,
- Promoting and increasing the availability of smoke-free rental housing, and
- Promoting access to cessation services.
Tobacco Free Cortland is a Community Partner of the New York State Tobacco Control Program, and is funded by a grant to the Cortland County Health Department from the New York State Department of Health.
