Spirituality and Aging

CETG 166. (3 contact hours) What is the role of spirituality for the older adult? Why do individuals find comfort and guidance in their spiritual and religious beliefs? These are just some of the issues that will be discussed in this course. Topics include the differences and similarities of religion and spirituality, the essentials of spirituality, spiritual interventions, spirituality and the healing process, and spiritual and religious diversity among cultures and ethnic groups.

The goal of this course is to provide an over view of spirituality and aging, discuss the multidimensional aspects of spirituality, and describe the vast diversity of spiritual expressions.

Accreditation: ALLEGRA Learning Solutions, LLC is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Requirements: Internet access, e-mail, and Netscape or Internet Explorer Web browser.

Offered Fall and Spring semesters, $60.
