We Have a Little Emergency (WHALE)
The WHALE Program is an identification and information package used on child car safety seats. Two WHALE stickers attach to the sides of the car safety seat. These alert rescue personnel that the seat has an important info label on the back. Stickers also attach to the rear side windows of the vehicle to alert rescuers.
An information label is attached to the back of the car seat, with important information about the child in the seat, such as name, date of birth, medical history, and who to contact in an emergency. There is also space for a photo of the child. If more than one child uses the seat, several labels with photos can fit on the back of the seat. When the child is no longer in a car seat, the info should be kept in the glove compartment.
Each mother with a newborn child is supplied with a packet when leaving the hospital. For more information contact the Cortland Fire Department at (607) 756-5612.
Free for Participants.
