Description of Services:

Headquartered in Syracuse, The Central New York Eye and Tissue Bank is a private, nonprofit, medical organization whose commitment is to enhance and save lives through organ, tissue and eye donation while maintaining respect for those who give the gift of life.

The CNYETB has served CNY since 1955 and currently serves 17 hospitals located in 9 CNY counties, including Cortland Regional Medical Center. The CNYETB:

1) Coordinates the eye and tissue recovery process with hospitals and funeral homes,

2) Distributes eye and other tissues for transplant,

3) Provides follow-up information to donor families,

4) Staffs displays at Community and Employer Health, Wellness, and Fitness Fairs to increase awareness about Organ and Tissue Donation.
