Eat Smart NY Nutrition Education Program

Eat Smart NY is a program that can teach you how to:

Sometimes, Eat Smart NY can be used to fulfill work experience or community service requirements. Anyone may join Eat Smart NY who receives Food Stamps or may be eligible to receive Food Stamps.

Participants work with a Nutrition Teaching Assistant or coordinator and do practical, hands-on activities, such as preparing and eating delicious foods as part of the lessons.

Eat Smart NY can work in two ways:

Group Workshops: a series of 6 workshops held at various places in the community. Each workshop lasts about 2 hours, with up to 12 people in a group.

Home Visits: Nutrition Teaching Assistant works with you in your home, or someplace else you decide, usually once a week for an hour or longer.
