Cortland City School District
Comprehensive School Health and Wellness Program
The Comprehensive School Health and Wellness Program is led by a broadly based advisory team with members representing each of the buildings in the district as well as students, parents, and community agencies and instutitions. The goal of this program is to promote staff health and wellness and produce healthier children who are better learners and higher achievers.
The Team assists the individual building level Healthy School Teams by:
- assessing the health status, issues, concerns and risky behaviors of staff, children and their families;
- obtaining input from the community about the overall direction of the program;
- developing a shared vision for the health of children and their families;
- making policy recommendations to the Board of Education;
- identifying and coordinating resources; and
- helping secure district-level support for and implementing indicated coordinated school health programs for staff, students and families.
The Team meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month during the school year from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Room 113, Cortland Jr-Sr High School.
