Family Support Services
Family Support Services is a program funded by the State Office of Mental Health, and offered by the Cortland County Mental Health Clinic, that serves the families of children and adolescents with serious emotional difficulties. It is designed to provide supportive services that empower families and enhance their ability to care for their special-needs children in the home. This program strongly encourages parental involvement and participation in all aspects of its program, including the development, monitoring and evaluation of services.
Family Support Services offers a flexible range of services that help to reduce stress, increase the family's level of functioning, and facilitates more effective parenting.
Family Support Services offers the following services to families:
- Respite Care Services: Planned Drop-In, In-Home, One-on-One
- TEAM Parents Program: Intensive In-Home Parenting Services
- Parent Information Exchange: Support group that meets each Wednesday evening (5:15- 6:45 pm)
- Parenting Classes: Offered every other Thursday morning (9:30 - 11:00 am)

- Crisis Intervention
Offered M-F 9 a. m. - 5 p.m., and flexible evening hours
