Case Management for Teens
Case managers for the STEPS program (Supportive Teen Education Parent Services) and TASA (Teens Aimed at Self Achievement) can help teens by providing emotional support, assisting with problems at school or with parents, or helping them receive services at another agency. Teens are eligible for this voluntary program until age 21.
Some of the areas a case manager can help teens with:
- Job Search
- Budgeting and Finances
- Education and Training
- Parenting Skills
- Health Care/Prenatal Care
- Teen Pregnancy and Prevention
- Family Relationships
- Arranging Transportation
- Housing Issues
- Men's Club
- Coordinating services with other agencies
Some teens stay involved in STEPS/TASA for several years, or a few months depending on their situation. They can be referred to the program by a teacher, doctor, agency staff person, or simply by calling themselves.
