Long Term Care Ombudsman Program

Cortland County's Ombudsman Program is coordinated through the Area Agency on Aging. Ombudsman volunteers are required to complete a state-mandated 36-hour training. They are then assigned to a long term care facility to act as advocates for residents and their families. The objective is to improve the quality of life for residents of skilled nursing facilities, adult homes, and family type homes.
