SUNY Cortland prides itself on being flexible to the needs of our students. We offer 67 majors and 34 graduate programs in a beautiful small town setting. The average class is 25 students, with a student-faculty ratio of 19:1. Our personal size allows students to become more fully involved in their classroom studies, while providing an opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with other students and professors.
Our students have the opportunity to choose from an impressive list of more than 90 clubs, organizations and activities. Concerts, films, picnics, lectures and other cultural events are offered on the campus throughout the year. The campus also has two state-of-the-art fitness facilities, three swimming pools, an ice arena, indoor and outdoor tracks, several basketball gyms, 22 tennis courts, 10 squash and racquet courts and numerous practice fields. In 2002 and 2004, we hosted the Empire State Games at our new stadium complex.
In meeting the challenges of change in today’s world, SUNY Cortland strongly encourages the technological education of its students. We have 45 student computer labs, 18 of which are designated as public access and 27 designated as special purpose, over 2,077 computers and more than 5,000 pieces of computer equipment on campus.
