Description of Services

Family Health Network of Central New York is a private not-for-profit corporation licensed by the State of New York as a Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Their mission is to provide quality health care primarily to the residents of Cortland and adjacent counties, with a particular emphasis on underserved areas.

FHN's team of healthcare professionals includes Board Certified or Board Eligible Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Dentists, Registered Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, Psychiatrists, Certified Social Workers, and Family Counselors.

Family Health Network accepts private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare. Sliding fee available. Assisted Enrollment in Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus.

Services include:

Family Practice - treat minor injuries, diagnose illnesses and long-term conditions, provide regular well-child and well-adult check-ups, offer hospital and outpatient care, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, regular well-adult check-ups, gastrointestinal conditions, urology, endocrinology, and infectious diseases. Minor office-based surgeries.

Obstetrics/Gynecology - prenatal care, labor and birth, pap smears, family planning, treatment of infertility and colposcopy.

Perinatal Program - comprehensive educational and support services including childbirth education classes, breastfeeding and nutrition education, risk assessment and reduction, parenting education, counseling for family conflict.

Pediatrics - well-child care, treatment of acute and chronic childhood diseases, adolescent medicine.

Family Dentistry - family dental care including routine cleaning, fillings, extractions, and limited specialty care (root canals, crowns, bridges, dentures).

Occupational Health - Pre-employment physicals, random drug testing, DOT drug testing, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing, and respirator fit testing. We offer a variety of services to area businesses to keep employees healthy and working.

Prenatal Care Assistance Program (PCAP) - Prenatal Care Assistance Program can help you get the care you need for you and your baby. PCAP offers complete pregnancy care to women and teens in New York State. Free; you may be eligible even if you have insurance.

School Health Programs - comprehensive health care through school-based clinics at DeRuyter Central School, Cincinnatus Central School, Appleby Elementary School (Marathon), and Marathon High School. No financial eligibility requirements, services provided on-site at school free of charge (parents' insurance will be billed if applicable).
